I know. We're two months late, and we feel guilty about it every day. Especially when we consider the state of the baby albums. Okay, make that album singular. We don't even have one for Quinn. And so far Vera's album consists of her first moments, and then her foot prints. That's right--two pages. But at least we have this blog to keep some sort of record. So, in that spirit, here are pictures from Quinn's first birthday party.
We had a nice little potluck with friends from our community. We played a fun game where everyone was handed a picture of Quinn and they had to guess how many months he was at the time of the photo, and hang it on the wall along a timeline. And we had apple dapple cake, his maternal great-grandmother's recipe.
Here is a very short video from his party. (Our digital camera only takes 15 second videos!) I love this because he has this great moment of realization when he is suddenly aware that everyone is looking at and singing for him.

What a BIG BOY! So glad to see the pictures. It is so hard to believe he is already over a year old.
This blog will be such a treasure to look back on as they grow. I know what you mean about the baby books. Matthew's first year is sporadically recorded in both photos and writing. I made it as a far as prints of your tiny hands and feet, a lock of your hair, and an Elvis stamp, Maria. And, well... Drew might be able to use his someday for his own children.
Mama would have been really happy about their birthday cakes and cupcakes.
Love you all,
Mama/Grandmama
And happy belated birthday to You, CM! Hope you had a great day, whenever you celebrated.....the 28th or the 1st????

Stacey
